Buy STING Sports from the Official Swiss Importer
STING Sports is an Australian boxing brand founded in Melbourne in 2003. Its range includes equipment for beginners, fitness boxers, club athletes and competitive boxers.
Vikingstore is the official Swiss importer of STING Sports. We import the products directly for the Swiss market and provide personal advice, support with valid warranty claims and fast delivery from our Swiss warehouse.
STING is an Australian brand. However, this does not automatically mean that every product is manufactured in Australia. The country of manufacture may vary depending on the product and model range.
Boxing Gloves for Different Types of Training
STING offers boxing gloves for different requirements. The range extends from affordable entry-level models to training, sparring and competition gloves.
The right boxing glove depends on the type and frequency of training, body weight, hand size and the requirements of the trainer. A basic training glove has different characteristics from a heavily padded sparring glove or a compact competition glove.
Depending on availability, well-known model ranges include Armaplus, Armalite and Orion. Materials, padding and intended use vary between models. Always check the information provided on the individual product page.
STING Competition Gloves and Headguards
STING works with national and international boxing organisations and is an official equipment partner of World Boxing. Its range includes specially developed competition gloves and headguards.
Competition approval only applies to the specifically labelled product and the relevant organisation or event. Not all STING boxing gloves and headguards are automatically approved for official competitions.
Before a competition, boxers and clubs should check which equipment is currently required by the relevant federation or organiser. The colour, weight and model may also be specified in the competition rules.
Boxing Shoes and Other Boxing Equipment
In addition to boxing gloves, STING also offers boxing shoes, headguards, hand wraps, mouthguards, groin guards, focus mitts and other training accessories. The availability of individual products and model ranges may vary.
STING boxing shoes are designed for the typical movements required in boxing. They are intended to provide a stable stance while supporting quick footwork, changes of direction and pivoting. Choosing the correct size and a secure fit without excessive pressure is essential.
Headguards, groin guards and other protective equipment must fit closely and securely without unnecessarily restricting movement. Always consult the size guide for the individual product.
Choosing the Correct Boxing Glove Size
Boxing gloves are normally measured in ounces, abbreviated as OZ. The OZ rating primarily indicates the weight and amount of padding rather than the actual size of the inside of the glove.
The required OZ size depends on the intended use and the rules of the gym. More heavily padded gloves are generally required for sparring than for focus mitt training or an official competition.
Boxing hand wraps should always be worn underneath training and sparring gloves. When trying on gloves, make sure there is sufficient space for wrapped hands.
Cleaning and Care
Boxing gloves and protective equipment should be removed from the sports bag after every training session and allowed to dry completely in the open air. The surface can be cleaned carefully with a slightly damp cloth.
Do not store damp equipment in a closed bag. Direct heat, radiators and strong sunlight can damage leather, synthetic leather, padding and adhesives.
Check your equipment regularly for open seams, cracks, damaged fasteners and deformed padding. Damaged protective equipment should no longer be used for sparring or competition.
