Protective equipment
Health comes first!
Whether it's boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai, MMA or another martial art, the most important thing you should pay attention to is of course your health and the health of your opponent. Therefore, it is essential to wear suitable protective equipment. Most injuries are also avoided by protective equipment, the blows are cushioned and the risk of knockouts and cuts is greatly reduced by protective equipment.
Every martial artist should make sure that they have this standard protective equipment: mouth guard, foot guard, groin guard, head guard, boxing gloves with bandages and possibly shin guards. For women, there is also a chest guard which, as the name suggests, protects the chest.
Without protection, the risk increases
If the head, teeth (mouth) and body are not protected, injuries can occur quickly and easily. Of course, it is not possible to completely avoid injuries in a martial art, but with the right equipment the risk of injury during fighting can be reduced. We would like to give you a brief overview of the injuries you can sustain more quickly when boxing without protective equipment than with protectors:
• Cuts
• Concussion
• Knocked out tooth
• Broken shinbone
• Bruised testicles
• Broken foot bone
We therefore strongly recommend that you get good protective equipment to protect yourself.
