Weight gainer
What is a weight gainer and what are its benefits?
Weight gainer is a powder with nutrients that is mostly used in bodybuilding. Bodybuilding is a specific form of body modification. A central goal is muscle growth, especially through strength training and training on fitness equipment.
Who is the weight gainer suitable for?
Ectomorphs have particular difficulty gaining muscle mass. Although they have little body fat, they also have a fast metabolism.
The ectomorph type is characterised by a relatively short upper body, long legs and arms, narrow hands and feet and low body fat storage. They are characterised by rather narrow shoulders and a narrow chest and have long, thin muscles. Their hair tends to be thin and not densely grown. Ectomorphic types are often rather tall, but there are also cases of relatively short stature.
The weight gainer composition
Classic weight gainers contain different proportions of protein, carbohydrates and fat. A popular weight gainer formula is usually 60 % carbohydrates, 25 % protein and fat.
Carbohydrates in a weight gainer
The carbohydrates in a weight gainer mainly include maltodextrin, dextrose, oats or Vitargo.
Protein in a weight gainer
Most weight gainers contain a multi-component protein made from milk protein and various whey protein fractions such as whey protein isolate, whey protein concentrate and whey protein hydrolysate.
Fats in the weight gainer
MCT oil and omega-3 fatty acids are used as fat sources in the weight gainer.
