MMA gloves - the right choice for your training
If you are interested in MMA, grappling or martial arts, then the right gloves are part of your basic equipment. But which gloves are the right ones for your training? In our MMA, grappling, sparring gloves category you will find a large selection of different models that are tailored to the needs of martial artists.
Choosing the right MMA gloves depends on how you mainly want to use them. The classic freefight gloves with 4oz weight and low cushioning are ideal for competitions and light sparring or grappling. However, if you place more value on stronger cushioning, then you should go for a Shooto glove that has a 7oz weight. Hybrid variants also offer a good combination of cushioning and weight.
A common mistake when deciding to buy MMA gloves is that many buyers are blinded by the popularity of competition gloves. However, keep in mind that although these gloves are suitable for pad or punch bag training as well as for ground techniques, grips and throws, they are not the best choice for everyday sparring. The Shooto or hybrid models are better suited for this as they have higher cushioning and therefore protect your hands better.
In our online shop Vikingstore you will find a large selection of high-quality MMA gloves that have been specially developed for your training. We offer you various models from well-known manufacturers such as Venum, Hayabusa or Twins Special. Our gloves are made of robust materials and offer you a perfect fit and optimal cushioning.

Poorly fitting MMA gloves cannot work properly. They slip and are a real danger for both the wearer and the training partner or opponent.
It is therefore absolutely important to determine the right size before buying. To do this, first measure the width of your hand at the knuckles - ideally with a boxing bandage, as this makes the hand a few millimeters wider.
Using these measurements, you can then reliably select the right glove with the help of a size chart. This is particularly important before shopping in online shops, as you cannot try the gloves on before buying them.
It is also important to know that competition gloves, at around 4 ounces, are significantly lighter than training gloves, which weigh around 6 ounces.
For better orientation, we have created a size overview for you:
S = 6 - 8 cm
M = 8 - 10 cm
L = 10 - 12 cm
XL = 12 - 14 cm
The gloves are usually also suitable for women without any problems. Sizes S and M will usually fit here.
