Im März 1947, nach langjähriger Erfahrung im Sektor der Lederverarbeitung, gründet der mit dem Italienischen „Ritter“ Ehrentitel gekrönte Orlando Leone die LEONE Mailänder Fabrik für Sportartikel.

Die Leidenschaft für den Fussball und vor allem für das Boxen führen den Gründer in die Richtung der Herstellung von Artikeln, die im Zusammenhang dieser sportlichen Disziplinen stehen. So werden Produkte für den Fussballsport hergestellt, vor allem Fussbälle und Fussballschuhe, die mit dem Label „PAROLA“ in den Handel kommen.

Inter, Mailand, Juventus waren unter den wichtigsten Fussballmannschaften, die vom berühmten Ball mit 18 Sektionen in Lederfarbe gebrauch machten, Spieler vom Kaliber von Antognoni, Angelillo und Scirea waren die ersten, die mit LEONE-Fussballschuhen spielten.

Auch im Boxen wird das Unternehmen bald zum Marktleader. Es gibt keinen italienischen Boxer der Epoche, der nicht LEONE Boxhandschuhe angezogen hat.

Von da an ist die Marke LEONE in ganz Italien immer in den Ring gestiegen und hat die ganze produktive Erfahrung auch für neue Disziplinen, die von Übersee nach Europa gelangten, wie Kick -Thai Boxen und Savate, zur Verfügung gestellt.

In den letzten Jahren hat LEONE die starke Marktstellung in Europa und auch in Übersee befestigt, dank auch Prestigeträchtigem Sponsoring mit den Champion Giorgio und Armen Petrosyan, Gago Drago, Artur Kyshenko, Alessio Sakara, Chingiz Allazov, Yuri Bessmertny und andere mehr.

Das Unternehmen ist nun in der dritten Generation der Familie LEONE tätig und wird den dazumal eingeschlagenen Weg weiter schreiten, die eigene Produktion immer wieder verbessern und weiterentwickeln. LEONE ist Heute eine Realität auch in der Branche Sportbekleidung und Life Style.
