Amino acids
TheAmino acids are chemical units or "building blocks" of proteins. Twenty amino acids are protein substances that form muscles, tendons, organs, glands, nails and hair. The amino acids obtained from food are called "essential amino acids".
The amino acids that the body produces itself are considered non-essential amino acids.
The growth, repair and maintenance of all cells depend on them. After water, proteins form the main weight in our body.

Essential amino acids
Essential amino acids are all amino acids that cannot be produced by the body itself and can only be obtained from food. A protein-rich diet is a prerequisite for this. Our body breaks down the proteins, extracts the essential amino acids from them and uses them to form new proteins.
Histidine
This amino acid is mainly found in haemoglobin and is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, ulcers and anaemia. Histidine is essential for tissue growth and repair. It is also important for the myelin cells that cover the nerve cells and is important in the production of red and white blood cells. Histidine protects the body from radiation damage, lowers blood pressure and helps to eliminate heavy metals and reduced libido.
Isoleucine
Isoleucine plays an important role in the formation of haemoglobin, stabilises and regulates blood sugar and regulates the supply of energy. This amino acid is particularly valuable for athletes as it is involved in the healing and repair of muscle tissue, skin and bones. The amount of this amino acid is often too low in people with mental or physical problems.
Leucine
Leucine interacts with the amino acids isoleucine and valine in the wound healing of muscles, skin and bones. It is particularly recommended after operations. This amino acid reduces blood sugar and helps with the production of growth hormone.

Lysine
The functions of this amino acid include proper calcium absorption. It also regulates nitrogen levels in adults. Lysine helps in the formation of collagen, which in turn is important for the formation of connective tissue and cartilage. Lysine also helps in the production of antibodies against cold sores and herpes flare-ups. This acid also reduces elevated triglyceride levels in the serum.
Methionine
Methionine is rich in antioxidants and a good source of sulphur, which is beneficial for hair, skin and nail disorders. Methionine helps to break down fats in the liver and in the arteries to the brain, heart or kidneys and helps to detoxify lead and other heavy metals. It helps against muscle weakness, prevents brittle hair and protects against radiation. Methionine is helpful for women taking oral contraceptives because it promotes the excretion of oestrogens and lowers histamine levels in the body, which is beneficial for schizophrenia patients.
Phenylalanine
Phenylalanines are required by the brain for the production of noradrenaline. This chemical substance mediates the signals between the nerve cells in the brain and ensures alertness and wakefulness. Phenylalanine is also associated with mood enhancement and pain relief, as well as boosting memory and learning performance. It is also used in the treatment of arthritis, depression, menstrual cramps, migraines, obesity, Parkinson's disease and schizophrenia.
Threonine
The amino acid threonine regulates the protein balance in the body and plays an important role in the formation of collagen, elastin and tooth enamel. It also helps with the lipotrophic function of the liver in conjunction with aspartic acid and methionine, where it counteracts the deposition of fat in the liver and favours its metabolism.
Tryptophan
This amino acid is considered a natural relaxant, helps with insomnia, reduces anxiety and depression and stabilises the mind. The acid also helps with migraines and the immune system. Tryptophan helps with weight control by regulating appetite and increases the release of growth hormones. Tryptophan is also recommended for hyperactive children.

Valine
Valine is important for muscle metabolism and for muscle coordination, wound healing and nitrogen balance in the body, which is a source of energy for muscle work. This amino acid is also useful for liver diseases, biliary diseases, and promotes mental strength and balance
Alanine
Alanine plays a role in the transport of nitrogen from the outer tissues to the liver and helps with sugar metabolism, where it acts against the accumulation of toxins in the muscle cells, which are released by the muscle proteins in a rapid decomposition process for energy production. This strengthens the immune system and the production of antibodies.

Non-essential amino acids
Non-essential amino acids are those that can be produced by the organism itself from other amino acids.
Arginine
This amino acid is considered a "natural Viagra" because it increases the blood supply. It prevents the growth of tumours and cancerous growths by strengthening the immune system and increases and activates the thymus gland, which produces T-cells, which in turn make an important contribution to the immune system. Arginine helps cleanse the liver by neutralising ammonia, reduces the chronic toxicity of alcohol used in male fertility treatment and increases sperm count. Arginine also helps with weight loss as it favours the formation of muscle mass and causes a reduction in body fat. It helps in the release of growth hormones, which are important for optimal muscle growth and muscle tissue repair. It is also an important component of collagen, which is used to treat arthritis and connective tissue weakness. It also stimulates the pancreas in the production of insulin.

Aspartic acid
Aspartic acid increases resistance and is good against long-term fatigue and depression. It rejuvenates cell activity and favours cell regeneration and metabolism. In addition to a youthful appearance, aspartic acid also protects the liver by supporting ammonia excretion. Combined with other amino acids, it forms molecules that bind toxins and remove them from the bloodstream. This amino acid also helps with the circulation of some minerals through the intestinal mucosa, blood and cells and improves the function of ARNs and DNAs, which contain genetic material.
Cysteine
Cysteine serves as a far-reaching antioxidant in detoxification. It protects the body against radiation damage, protects the liver and brain from alcohol damage, drugs and other toxic substances such as cigarette smoke. It is also used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and hardening of the arteries. Other functions of this amino acid are the healing of burns, wound healing after surgery, fat burning and muscle formation as well as the alleviation of ageing processes. Skin and hair consist of 10 - 14 % of this amino acid.

Glutamic acid
Glutamic acid acts as an excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, brain and spinal cord. This protein, which is very important for the metabolism of sugar and fat, helps to transport potassium into the cerebrospinal fluid, serves as an energy supplier for the brain and helps in the treatment of personality disorders. It is used for epilepsy and regression as well as for muscular dystrophy and ulcers.
Glutamine
Glutamine is the most abundant protein in muscles. Glutamine helps in the formation and maintenance of muscle tissue and prevents the muscle breakdown that results, for example, from bedriddenness or diseases such as AIDS or cancer. This amino acid is also a brain fuel that promotes brain activity and balances alkaline acid levels in the body. It helps to maintain a healthy digestive tract, shortens the healing time of ulcers, helps with fatigue and reduces cravings for sugar and alcohol. It has also been used for schizophrenia and dementia.
All Stars Glutamine Powder 300g
Glycine
Glycine stops muscle degeneration, improves glucose storage and regulates its release. It helps a healthy prostate, central nervous system and immune system. It is a useful amino acid in the repair of damaged tissue and helps with healing.
GN Laboratories Nitro Glycerine Narcotica 300g
Ornithine
This amino acid helps to release growth hormones, which regulates the fat balance, also in co-operation with arginine and carnitine. It is important for a good immune system, helps in the disposal of ammonia, in the regeneration of the liver and stimulates insulin production. Ornithine also helps insulin as an anabolic hormone in muscle formation.
Proline
The functions of this amino acid include improving skin structure by producing collagen and preventing the loss of collagen through ageing processes. Proline also helps with the cicatrisation of cartilage and the strengthening of joints, tendons and heart muscle. Proline works with vitamin C for the healthy maintenance of connective tissue.
Serine
The amino acid serine is required for the correct metabolism of fats and fatty acids, for muscle building and for a healthy immune system. Serine is also contained in the protective sheaths of myelin, which cover the nerve fibres, and is important for the functions of ARNs and DNAs as well as for cell formation and the formation of immunoglobin and antibodies.
Taurine
Taurine strengthens the heart muscle, is good for the eyes and prevents muscle breakdown. It is the main component of bile, which is needed for the digestion of fat. Taurine is helpful for people with arteriosclerosis, oedema, heart disease, high blood pressure or hypoglycaemia. It is a necessary amino acid for proper potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium balance, and helps with potentially dangerous cardiac arrhythmias. Taurine has been used in the treatment of anxiety, epilepsy, hyperactivity, poor brain performance and convulsions.

Tyrosine
This amino acid is important for the entire metabolism. Tyrosine is a precursor of adrenaline and dopamine, which influence moods and the nervous system. Tyrosine acts as a mood enhancer, appetite suppressant and helps to break down fat. Tyrosine also helps in the production of melanin, which is responsible for hair colour and skin pigmentation. Tyrosine is also involved in the adrenal gland, the thyroid gland and the pituitary gland. It has been used to treat permanent fatigue, narcolepsy, anxiety, depression, listlessness, allergies and headaches.
